Applying Theory of Evidence in multisensor data fusion: a logical interpretation

Theory of Evidence is a mathematical theory which allows one to reason with uncertainty and which suggests a way for combining uncertain data. This is the reason why it is used as a basic tool for multisensor data fusion in situation assessment process. Although numerician people know quite well this formalism and its use in multisensor fusion, it is not the case for people used to manipulate logical formalisms. This present work intends to give them the key for understanding Theory of Evidence and its use in multisensor data fusion, rst by giving a logical interpretation of this formalism, when the numbers are rational, and secondly, by reformulating, in a particular case, one model deened by Appriou for multisensor data fusion.
